Beauty and the Beast and 10 Things I Learned at 50

When you are almost 53 and you have the chance to see a classic with your besties it takes on a whole new meaning.

I remember the first time I saw it.  My daughter and son were young toddlers and it was our traditional outing to the theatre for yet another Disney movie.  Heavily buttered popcorn and soda pop to wash it all down, a couple boxes of candy, the two or three visits to the bathroom during the showing of Belle and the Beast and the multiple questions to answer about characters and plots during the show were normal for any mom taking her children for some added fun to the day.

Even with all the interruptions it was the smiles, surprised looks and sometimes tiny tears that I enjoyed the most.  The excitement afterward to discuss what we saw and the visits to the toy store to buy dolls and games to re-enact everything all over again were my memories of a day at the movies.

Fast forward now to an almost empty nest and a remake to a favorite film,  "Beauty and the Beast".  I couldn't wait to see this with my friends who in the past had also spent time in the theatre with their children and also knew what those feelings were.
